I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my undergraduate degree at Mercer University in marketing and management in 2006, I worked in a foresaid field for five years. During this time, I realized that my true passion was helping others and that I was meant to take on a new career path in life. In 2015, I earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During an extensive internship at Ridgeview Institute, I worked with individuals suffering from various addictions and mental health disorders in the inpatient and outpatient programs. Shortly after completing my internship, I joined the Admissions Department at MARR as an admissions coordinator and began working at DBT South. In 2018 I created my own practice, Nisha Patel Counseling, LLC.

I have completed formal training in DBT through Behavioral Tech. I am also formally trained in Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

In working with you, I bring an energetic, positive, warm, and honest approach. I will offer skills as they are needed and help you learn how to use them in your own environment and situation. You will learn to accept your reality as well as acknowledge that change is needed. I will encourage you and teach you how to take the steps needed to make your life better.
